Ghana is an Anglophone country surrounded by three Francophone nations. It is therefore vital that Ghanaians have an appreciation and understanding of French and Francophone traditions, culture, arts and also, language in order to effectively interact with their Francophone neighbours. This has become even more crucial in light of the planned transmutation of West Africa into a single union by the ECOWAS and also, the use of a common currency in all the member countries; interaction, both socially and commercially between Ghana and the other West African countries (majority of whom are French – speaking) shall be on a larger scale.
We at Property Express Ltd, publishers of the Property Express Magazine & Newspaper and organizers of the Ghana Property Awards want to accelerate this exposure to and awareness of Francophone culture, design and art through a property related Exhibition in Ghana and beyond.
“DESART 2010” (Design and Art Exhibition 2010) is therefore being organised as a platform to bring together Ghanaians and their neighbouring Francophone countries in the design and art industry, under one roof, to share ideas.
